The Wisconsin Health Information Organization (WHIO) is pleased to provide a new report, Hospital Admission Rates for Short-Term Complications of Diabetes: Comparison of Wisconsin Counties.  This report contains important information about the variation in hospital admissions for people who have diabetes – an ambulatory care sensitive condition – where effective primary and community care can help to prevent the need for a hospital admission.

The WHIO is a Qualified Entity under the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) Qualified Entity Certification Program which allow the WHIO to receive Medicare Fee for Service data from CMS. This report was created from the WHIO’s information system which contains Medicare Fee for Service, Medicare Advantage, Medicaid, commercial and employer self- funded data, the most comprehensive data set of health care in Wisconsin.
